How
~ To use Color
- Process color
- is full color using four colors of ink; Cyan,
Magenta, Yellow,
and BlacK (CMYK). To make our yearbook look more professional and reduce
placement costs watch that:
- color photos must fit 100%.
- enlargements and reductions cost extra.
- non-square (irregular) photos cost extra.
- photocopies do not reproduce well due to dot pattern.
- check wrapping paper used as background or artwork that there is no dot pattern.
- about $800.00 for 8 pages (one side of a signature) 6
months before delivery..
- Spot color
- can be printed at 10%, 30%, 60%, or 100%.
- about $300.00 for 8 pages (one side of a signature).
Use Spot color for:
- large initial letters
- first word in copy
- symbols
- small graphics
- headlines
- text
- to accent colors in photos
|
Do not use Spot
color for:
- heavy colors as backgrounds, sidebars, or other panels as
they overpower content.
- yellow and pink text is hard to read
|
- Vibratone paper
- can be used to create colorful designs, inexpensive
backgrounds, or a special page highlight. Simply place the paper onto the page as if it
were artwork. There are 14 colors to choose from.
